Finally A Solution To Stop Sucking

Finally A Solution To Stop Sucking

Final Straw has made quite a splash with its highly successful $1.8 million Kickstarter campaign  that set off a massive shift toward reusable straws. Their mission is to reduce the astonishing 500 million plastic straws that Americans consume every day by offering a convenient alternative. The release of this product conveniently coincided with the celebrity endorsed Stop Sucking public service announcement, adding to the awareness of our global single use plastic problem specifically those pesky straws.

The designers at Final Straw, made portability a high priority by offering a sleek carrying case and a collapsible straw that can easily fit into any pocket or be attached to a keychain. The included straw brush makes cleaning a breeze ensuring that your straw will stay clean.

What’s Good:

Final Straw has helped inspire a movement away from single use plastic straws so much so that it has, unfortunately for them, generated many compeditorts that has offered like and similar products. If anything these fast flowers serve as a testament to the good design and effectiveness of their solution.

Thoughts on where to expand:

Given their environmental focus I am surprised to see that the product materials do not contain any recycled or environmentally conscious content. Producing a more responsible product would help them stand out from their increased competition and give the customer a reason to stick to with their brand.
